Gift certificates: the holiday best seller Gift certificates let a salon sell services ahead of time: clients buy them for their mom or a friend, and the person who receives one often adds another service. Each one prints on both sides of 12pt stock, carries its own number and has a perforated stub: the client keeps the certificate, you keep the stub to check it against.

Show the amount or service, who it is from and who it is for. Numbering tells you which ones were used and discourages copies. Order a few weeks before Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Christmas. Certificates issued only on paper are excluded from the federal gift card rule (12 CFR 1005.20), but some states have their own expiration laws, so check yours before printing an expiration date.
